Since last year I was pregnant with Jack on my actual 30th Birthday....we decided to do something a little different for my 31st or a redo of my 3oth as I called it....and we made our way to vegas. It was amazing....the food was incredible and the nightlife was out of this world!!!

I had to share our sweet Christmas card....It was my favorite by far and the best part is we designed it ourselves....what fun we had. In this picture Jack you were only five months old and barely sitting up. Wow have they grown since then.

I realized the other day I had not blogged since last February and I am so sad because I realize that I can use this as a scrapbook of our lives minus all the paper and extra pictures which I am so not good at keeping up with....so I do say I will try to do better this time around!!! Well considering the last time I blogged was in the midst of a snowstorm in Monroe, La...yes a rare occasion...Paige was two and I was five months pregnant....well about two week after my final blog we where blessed with the news that we were expecting a baby boy. All of a sudden I was seeing blue, jon-jons, tractors, football in my eyes....Then it happened summer came, Paige turned three and eighteen days later on July 8, 2010 we welcome a healthy baby boy. Jack Owen Ryan arrived at 10:55 am weighing at a hefty 7pds and 15oz and 20 inches long.
So here is a little glimpse of the past year!!

My Snow Angel

Wow, what a wonderful morning....Like most of the area we were blessed to have 4 inches of snow on the ground when we woke up friday morning. P was so excited and could not wait to go out side and play. We built snowmen yes three and headed to the levee where P fearlessly went sledding for at least two hours. She had such a big time and nap time was very welcome!
On another note I am now 181/2 weeks with Baby Ryan...I am excited to find out on tues if we have a little brother or sister....this has been such a different pregnancy...I will keep all updated!

Emily and Billy's Visit

About a month ago our cousins from Memphis came to visit and we all had such a great time....At the time we were 15 weeks with baby ryan and Paige was excited to tell Emily all about her baby, big girl room and her love of princesses. Emily surprized P with a fun filled afternoon of Maggie Moo's, Starbucks hot chocolate, Build a Bear and after a hard day of shopping...a pedicure...After P's big day, mommy and daddy were able to hang out with Emily and Billy for some adult time....woo hoo!

In preparation of becoming a big sister in a few month...Paige gracefully agreed that the baby needed her nursery and she would get a new big girl room...So she was able to help Daddy over the past few weeks paint her big girl room....She has had such a blast helping Michael paint....

I just wanted to do a quick post about P and her Daddy. I have to say I get the dream job of spending all day everyday with her but as soon as Michael enters the room say 5:30 or 6ish....Oh my daddy...P will exclaim and from there she is all his. It is so touching for me to see how much they adore each other and how much of a "Daddy's" girl she has become and I love it. Michael is an amazing father and so great with her. His two girls are so blessed.

Why what a busy summer we have had this year. A wedding, a trip to the mountains and great weekend trips with family... Now it is time for us to get ready for "Big Girl" school. Madonna and adoption

Okay, I just wanted to vent about all of the celebrity adoptions and how absurd I think it is that these people feel that they can just whip into a country and because they are more loaded than anything and just rip these children away from their family's. I do understand because they are more financially secure that they could provide a higher quality of life. okay, they can and will provide the best nannies money can buy with the best boarding schools and along with the nicest couture children clothing. What she can not provide is a stable two parent household.
I feel like they are trying to play GOD with these children's lives and it infurates me to no end. I was raised by my grandparents and they provided me with a normal life. In this scenario the child is being raised by her grandmother and she has no desire to give up the child. I applauded this morning when I saw her (Madonna's) request was denied. If not up for adoption these sweet innocent children should be allowed regardless of how rich or poor they might be, stay with the family's they know and love. and to grow up in the the culture and custom for which they were born into.
I cannot imagine, like this child someone taking my beloved Paige except her father or grandparents if anything were to happen to me.

The cake that was delivered to Coda was supposed to have been for a wedding party... The wedding got canceled but they forgot to cancel the cake. Happy Birthday to me!

Of all of my birthday past... My favorite gift have been clothes, trips, nights out with friends but this year was exceptionally special because....this is what I heard this morning... "Happy bifday to ohh, happy bifday to ohh(you) happy Mommy!" My sweet girl sang happy birthday to me...what an amazing gift.

We took Paige to our local parade here in Monroe and we had such a blast. Paige was trying to say" throw me some beads mister"....how cute. Needless to say, we caught lots of beads and good times were had by all...Here is Paige in her "Mardi Gras" dress at school on Thursday!

Okay, a dear friend of mine, who I have not seen in almost 12 years came to visit us the day after Thanksgiving. My lovely friend Mariah made her apperance and what a great reunion we had... and by the way she is a phenominal cook, I almost was replaced. We had such a great visit and I miss her dearly. Camp friends are the greatest. Ri this blog is for you! and remember do not bag your own groceries in the South!! Haha!

When I know how to book myself, I like to do it big!! This week is Thanksgiving, a time for family and friends...well I have decided to do it all.
First, with impending company on the horizon, Michael and I took the bull by the horns and finally after three years in our home cleaned and made our guest bedroom just that. That infused a cleaning frenzy on my part. I over the past 24 hours have washed walls, baseboards, dusted in places I did not know existed getting our home up for code. Meanwhile, shopped for thanksgiving dinner, did laundry, and well there is Paige. I thought I would be exhausted( yes about 10 pm) I will, but I feel extremely empowered and proud. I also know my grandmother has rolled over in her grave at least 10 times during today watching from heaven as I scrubed away!
Second, my college roommate Tricia will be visiting tomorrow, a lot of shopping and gossiping to catch up on with Paige in tow! After a long day of chatting dinner and drinks with Holly. I expect a headache Weds. morning. I will still be at spin class. There I have committed myself!
Third, my dear friend from North Carolina is coming to visit me and meet Paige on Friday morning. We are heading over to Jackson to pick her up!!! I am so excited and cannot wait to see her... I am throwing a meet and greet on Friday night at 0ur house for all of our friends here to meet one of my dearest friends....
Finally I need to back track, Michael and I are hosting Thanksgiving dinner at our house! I am very excited and I remember fondly Bonnie preparing for the holiday weeks in advance with at least eight types of dressing....
Paige is going to have a busy week....Keep me in your prayers please. I hope to find everyone has a wonderful and safe turkey day....

Here is a picture of Paige at 17 months, she is growing up so fast and now looks like a little girl. Not much to report except that she is a singing queen. She comes home from mother's day out everytime singing a new song. Her personal favorite "wheels on the bus" and itsy bitsy spider" and we know all of the hand motions!!!

This past week we visited the pumpkin patch. She loved all of the pumpkins and had so much fun and we brought home a "Paige" size pumpkin and now everytime we come home, we get out and go see her pumpkin!!

Beach 2008

At the end of September, we all took Paige on her first adventure to the beach. We arrived on a Saturday after the long journey which she did amazing....and hit the beach. She was a little uncertain about having sand beneath her toes,(any one who knows her she is not a fan of being dirty) but saw a whole new world to explore and she was then off. She enjoyed playing with her bucket and shovel, feeding the birds( sea gulls) and hanging out with the family... The trip was so relaxing and we are looking forward to next year and taking our little "beach baby" back!
